Christmas movies

First, you are going to watch a short film clip. After viewing the clip you have to write down as many visual things as you can remember. You  might mention objects or people, with descriptions, processes, actions or even more abstract things such as emotions or concepts.

Choose one or two of these visual details to make into questions. For example: What colour scarf was Kevin wearing? What does Kevin put under the carpet? What does he pour on the front steps? How many buckets of paint did he pick up?

Paul’s life and problems at university

Paul decided to go to university, so he signed up for Psychology. Paul, at first, was a very good student. He studied very hard. Every night, he went, opened his books and studied. Then, the professor, the prof gave him an assignment and wanted him to write an essay. .  After, the Professor hands out the assignment, Paul is very stressed. He can’t think about the assignment, he’s so stressed out about it, so he ends up in partying, he has fun. And then the assignment comes due, which means he has to give in the assignment on Tuesday. The night before the assignment is due, Paul decides to stay up all night because he didn’t have his assignment ready, it was not completed, so in order to get it finished Paul stayed up all night working on it . Paul finished his assignment. So, the next day he goes to class, he has his assignment and he gives his essay to the professor . Well, Paul got a very good mark on his essay, somehow. Paul got an A+, he’s really happy, everything’s going great. And then, he starts thinking, instead of going to psych(ology) classes he has more fun going to the pub with his friends. He didn’t go to class, but he should have been in class. So, what happens next? Paul, because he was partying, he was cutting class/skipped class, he missed all the classes, so Paul had no idea what was happening in class. Every week he’s supposed to read a certain amount. He didn’t do any of his reading. So, there’s too much work for him to do. So, he falls behind in Psycho100. This is very bad at university. So, what does he do? He starts to go to class, starts to become a better student, he hits the books again. Because of his effort a nice thing happens. He fell behind but he gets back where he should be and he’s no longer behind. But then he started to skip class again, he stopped doing his assignments, so he fell behind again. Paul is back in a bit of a problem, in a difficult situation. So, there’s a couple of things Paul can do now. He can leave the course or quit the course . So, he leaves the course before he finishes it. But he doesn’t want to. But the problem now is that Paul a bit of a lazy student. So instead of doing what he should he does something very bad. He doesn’t do the work, he gets somebody else to do the work, he gives money to somebody to write his paper or he reads a book and he writes exactly what the book says. Paul’s stressed, decides to plagiarize his paper. He copied an essay from the internet, or he bought an essay online, he copied it. He hands in his paper to the professor and the professor realizes there’s something wrong with his paper. The professor does an online search and sees that somebody else wrote that paper. Paul’s in a very - very big trouble. Paul was very lucky. Luckily, the professor was a very nice professor, and just gave Paul a zero on that paper. But what can happen if you plagiarize?  You have to leave the university the university does not want you there. Luckily, that didn’t happen to Paul. Actually, Pau became very successful, he has a very high paying job. This was his first year .
